New to Essential Oils?
Hi Charmers! Welcome to my Heath & Wellness area of Blonde Charm. I am so excited to share with you my journey with essential oils and how they have benefited my family! I just know they can have a positive impact on your family too. So you might be wondering what are essential oils?! Essential Oils are volatile aromatic compounds that are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. They can be both beautifully and powerfully fragrant.

Essential oils not only serve their purpose in nature they can serve many purposes in our lives and homes. These oils have changed the way we do a lot of things in our home.
Essential Oil Use: Aromatically
Initially, I started using essential oils aromatically in the house. I had purchased a diffuser and would create blends I would find on Pinterest or use a pre-made blend. Our house smelled so good! But it more than smelled good…we noticed it seemed to help our emotions. I began researching blends for calming after a crazy day, focus for when the kids were doing their homework, motivating for mornings when we just could not get going and of course for peace to help with settling in for a good night’s rest. It really seemed to make a difference. I could feel the difference. It was awesome!
Essential Oil Use: Topically
After buying diffusers for everyone’s bedroom and more for the main level of the house I decided to explore the other uses of essential oils. I knew friends that applied them to the bottom of their children’s feet or spine before bed (as well as their own). If they had a headache they reached for Peppermint essential oil instead of an aspirin. If they had a sore throat or cough they were not going to the pharmacy to buy a cough drop. They were using oils and they were working!
So I gave it a try. There has been no turning back. My kids do not let me forget their oils in both the diffuser and topically each evening. No longer do we reach for medicine right away when we are not feeling well. We go to the essential oils first. We use oils prophylactically daily to help boost our immune systems and hopefully prevent illness. Of course there are days when the Peppermint just won’t bring that fever down or make the headache go away. But there are sometimes when it does. It’s always worth a try first!
Essential Oil Use: Internally
The third way to use and benefit from essential oils is to take them internally. Did you know that you can cook with essential oils?! There are so many oils that can be used as dietary supplements supporting a variety of healthy conditions. Our family takes immune supplements, Peppermint essential oil not only for fresh breath but to settle an upset stomach, Lemon essential oil does not just refresh your water but it assists with the detox of your liver and digestive system, allergy blends and vitamins. There are so many benefits when ingesting these essential oils.
