Seven Kid Friendly Activities at Camden Yards

Love baseball and looking for a fun summer outing with the kids?  Head over to Baltimore, MD for kid friendly activities at Camden Yards that will guarantee a fun afternoon or evening with the fam.

If you are in Baltimore, MD and the Baltimore Orioles are in town you must go!  Your family is sure to have a great time and will leave with fun filled memories.  Camden Yards is by far my family’s most favorite ballpark we have ever visited.  All of the kid friendly activities at Camden Yards makes it one of our summer must do’s each year.  My children always let us know they like this park over the others we frequent!

Here are seven kid friendly activities at Camden Yards:

  1. Did you know that your child (9 and under) can attend an O’s game for free?! This is such an awesome deal!  New in 2018, through the Kids Cheer Free initiative, all children age 9 and under can attend games at Oriole Park free of charge. Every adult who purchases a regularly priced individual game ticket in the Upper Deck can bring up to two children (age 9 and under) at no additional cost, subject to availability. Visit orioles.com/kidsfree for ticket information.
  2. If you are visiting for the first time the O’s  will issue a free certificate commemorating your first visit to Oriole Park at Camden Yards! My son got his certificate before he turned one. Just find one of the three Fan Assistance Centers and they will help you!  I have to mention how friendly the staff is at Oriole Park.  Never hesitate to ask a question whether it is for directions or for the best place to buy your favorite ballpark food.  You will be greeted by a friendly smile and great service.  Kid Friendly Activities at Camden Yards
  3. Consider joining the Baltimore Orioles’s Kids Club.  The Junior Orioles Dugout Club is a fun option for 3 – 14 year olds.  Club members receive a membership card, a lanyard and ticket holder, a subscription to Orioles Kids magazine, an Orioles cap, nylon wall banner and tickets to six pre-selected Orioles games all in a Dugout Club backpack! Visit orioles.com/dugoutclub to join!
  4. Do not forget to stop by the Kids’ Corner.  You can find it near Gate C.  There is a moon bounce, a fun playground, an Orioles throwing inflatable, larger-than-life Oriole Bird bobbleheads and more!  The best part is most of it is in the shade.  It’s a great place to let your little ones get out some energy after sitting still in their seats.  Kid Friendly Activities at Camden Yards
  5. Friday Fireworks & Music is so much fun!  Throughout the summer, the Orioles invite fans to enjoy performances from a cross-section of emerging and established artists on Friday evenings as part of the club’s new Friday Fireworks & Music at America’s Ballpark series. We attended the postgame, on-field musical performance where we were lucky enough to see Elle Winter perform. After her amazing performance we enjoyed a spectacular fireworks display.  It was an awesome evening of baseball, music and fireworks.  Summer fun for the kids does not get much better than this. Try to attend a Friday night home game this season!   Baltimore Orioles Fireworks
  6. Kids run the bases after every Sunday home game!  If your child is between the ages of 4-14 they can run the bases just like their favorite O’s players.  Around the 7th/8th inning you can get in line outside of the ballpark near Gate D or you can wait till the game is over but the line is sure to be longer.
  7. Has your family ever gone on a tour of a baseball park?  It is so interesting to learn the history of the park, see parts of the park that you would never see when attending as a fan.  It’s really a neat experience.  We have toured the Washington Nationals Park and Fenway Park and both were really fun and kept the attention of my kids.  Here are the details if you are interested in taking a tour:  Tours of Oriole Park at Camden Yards are given daily from mid-February through mid-December, except on days with afternoon home games. Tour tickets can be purchased either online, or at the main box office windows, located at the north end of the ballpark’s Warehouse. Tickets are sold in advance or the day of the tour, subject to availability. For more information, call the Tour Information Line at 410-547-6234 or visit online at orioles.com/tours.

So whether you live in the Maryland, Washington D.C., Northern VA area or will be visiting the area this summer for vacation I hope you will be able to head over to enjoy the kid friendly activities at Camden Yards!
