Looking for a weekend getaway? Book The Jefferson for an amazing staycation in our Nation’s Capital!
My husband and I were lucky enough to enjoy a one night getaway to our amazing nation’s capital this summer. I have always wanted to plan a staycation at The Jefferson. About once a year we stay in the city for an overnight when my parents gift us with a night away! We find staycations to be invaluable. We are fortunate enough to live so close to Washington, D.C. and love any opportunity to go for an overnight. We are so thankful for the 24 hours alone! It is sometimes all we need to reconnect and regroup. Every time we do a night in the city we always go to The Greenhouse at The Jefferson for brunch before returning home. Every time I tell my husband we have to stay here next time! Next time finally happened!
Room Details
We arrived on a Saturday afternoon where we were greeted by the wonderful front desk staff. The service at this hotel is impeccable. We were shown to the elevator after check-in and our bags arrived minutes later. Our room was so nice. We had a personalized card from the management welcoming us, shortbread cookies to enjoy as well as bottled filter water. The room was so comfortable. The pillows and mattress were just right! The bathroom was so nice too with an amazing shower and vanity. There was even a tv in the mirror…bonus! Although, it might have taken me a little longer to get ready! Ha!
The details of the room just made us feel right at home. We were able to relax right away! We got ready for our evening and headed to the bar for a drink and an appetizer before we went out to dinner.
The Bar
The Quill was so cozy. There were two areas with seating. We opted to sit at the bar since we do not get to do this with our kids! We ordered our drinks and a Mediterranean Platter that was so delicious! It was the perfect pick! The service at The Quill was faultless.
Evening Out & About
We enjoyed an Italian dinner in the city before heading to The Kennedy Center for an evening of laughs! It was SO enjoyable. If you ever have the chance to see Baby Wants Candy…GO! It was a lot of fun…what a group of talented individuals!
After a fun night out we returned to The Quill for a night cap before heading to bed. We were lucky enough to enjoy the in-house pianist! Wow!
Brunch
After an amazing night’s rest and sleeping in (one of the best parts of a staycation) we headed to The Greenhouse for brunch. Please read my review of The Greenhouse and be sure to make reservations soon! This is an experience!
Check Out
After brunch it was time to check-out and head home to our sweet blessings! The check out was so smooth. Once again the service…I just can not compliment the staff enough. On our way home we made a quick stop at the Jefferson Memorial. It just seemed like a perfect way to end our stay in the city!
The next time you are considering a staycation consider The Jefferson! You will not be disappointed staying at this amazing hotel. If you are not local and looking for a location to stay while touring Washington, D.C. consider The Jefferson! It’s the perfect location!
